Courses
Our next annual CPD course will take place on 16, 23 and 30 April 2024 (face-to-face), and on 9, 16 and 23 May 2024 (online)
The Course
The course will be delivered both face-to-face in Sheffield and virtually through remote access.
Download the 2024 course leaflet (opposite, PDF), for course details.
Registration is available via the University's Online Store.
Content
Internally, the course forms part of an MEng/MSc module in Structural Fire Engineering. For external delegates, it is also a CPD course accredited by the Institution of Fire Engineers. It is possible to attend, either in person or online, for any combination of days, with the fees being pro rata. Course materials, such as lecture slides and a collection of spreadsheets, will be provided.
The course will be of use to structural engineers, building control authorities and others involved in ensuring fire resistance of buildings. It will be of use to those who wish to understand the background and principles of structural fire engineering, particularly in the context of the considerable advances in the state of the art which have taken place over the past two decades.
